Our story

The Ocean City Restaurant Association

OCRA was formed in 2007 as part of a community-driven effort to support and strengthen the local dining scene. In the spring of that year, Mayor Sal Perillo called for volunteers to help improve the perception of restaurants in Ocean City. A meeting was held at the Music Pier, led by George Bauer and Eileen Friedman of the Mayor’s Commission on Volunteers, where members of the restaurant community came together in support of the initiative.
From these early efforts, a task force was established and, by July 2007, the Ocean City Restaurant Association was officially formed. Since then, OCRA has continued to promote the wide variety of dining experiences available throughout the city, from oceanfront restaurants to small cafés and everything in between.
Today, the association remains dedicated to showcasing Ocean City’s vibrant food scene, helping both locals and visitors discover great places to eat while supporting the restaurants that make the community unique.
